Lore

The Sword of the Platinum Dragon is one of the most sacred relics of the Church of Bahamut, the god of justice, nobility, and protection. The sword was forged by Bahamut himself, using his own breath and scales, as a gift to his most faithful champion, Sir Reginald Silverblade. Sir Reginald was a paladin of unparalleled virtue and valor, who dedicated his life to fighting against the forces of evil, especially the followers of Tiamat, the goddess of greed, envy, and destruction.
The sword has a silver blade and a platinum hilt. A blue sapphire, cut in the shape of a dragon's eye, is embedded in the forehead of the hilt. The eye is said to be a fragment of Bahamut's own soul, and it glows with a faint blue light when the sword is drawn. The sword is imbued with divine power, and can cut through any material with ease. It also grants its wielder enhanced strength, speed, and resilience, as well as protection from evil magic and creatures.
The sword also has a mind of its own, and can communicate telepathically with its wielder. The sword is loyal to Bahamut and his ideals, and will only allow itself to be wielded by someone who shares those values. The sword can also offer guidance, wisdom, and encouragement to its wielder, as well as warn them of impending danger. The sword is especially attuned to the presence of dragons, and can sense their alignment, mood, and intentions. The sword has a special hatred for Tiamat and her spawn, and will urge its wielder to fight them whenever possible.
The sword has been passed down through generations of paladins and clerics of Bahamut, who have used it to uphold justice and defend the innocent. The sword has been involved in many legendary battles and deeds, such as slaying the red dragon Krazax the Devourer, liberating the city of Nyrond from the tyranny of King Iuz the Evil, and leading the charge against the armies of Tiamat during the War of Dragons. The sword is currently in the possession of Lady Alia Silverwing, the high priestess of Bahamut and the descendant of Sir Reginald. She keeps the sword in a hidden vault in the Temple of Bahamut in Waterdeep, and only uses it for the most dire situations.
